The Play gradient light tube has a long, thin design that fits subtly into a TV area. You can mount it above or below the TV or place it on a flat surface. It offers a gradient of colourful light that, when paired with a Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box, reacts to the content on your screen. The Play gradient light tune comes in two sizes (compact and large) and two colours (black and white).

Though you can get limited control of the Play gradient light tube with the Philips Hue Bluetooth app, this light was designed to be paired with a Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box, which requires a Hue Bridge.

Both products are part of the Play family, which are lights designed to be used with surround lighting. They also offer a gradient of light, meaning they can shine multiple colours of light at the same time. However, the Hue Play gradient lightstrip attaches behind the TV, while the Play gradient light tube mounts above or sits below it.

Yes. The light can be mounted to the wall (screws not included) or placed onto a shelf or TV cabinet. 

No. You can mount the Hue Play gradient light tube above or below the TV or place it on a shelf or stand but it does not come with mounts for the TV itself. A different light, the Play gradient lightstrip, was designed to attach to the back of your TV.

Yes. Just like any other Philips Hue light, the Play gradient light tube connects with your existing Philips Hue setup to extend your collection of smart lights. You can also add the light tube to your Entertainment area to include it in your surround lighting setup.

Yes. Though the Play gradient light tube was designed for surround lighting setups in the TV area, you can also use it to get a gradient of colourful light when you're not syncing your lights.

Yes. Follow the instructions that came with your light tube to change the direction of its power cable.

For the best light experience, use the large Play gradient light tube with 55-inch and larger TVs. Use the compact Play gradient light tube with TVs smaller than 55 inches. 

No. The Play gradient light tube features two feet with non-skid pads on either side for stability and grip.

Dynamic scenes make your lights slowly cycle through that scene's colours. Gradient lights show several colours of the light scene and slowly cycle through them.
