It’s the first of its kind. We’ve partnered with Spotify to offer a unique lighting and music integration that links your Philips Hue and Spotify accounts, making your lights react to the Spotify music you love.

Be the first to test Philips Hue + Spotify! The new integration starts rolling out on 1 September 2021 – and you can activate it now. All you need are Philips Hue colour-capable lights, a Hue Bridge, any audio device and a Spotify account.
Step 1
In the Philips Hue app, go to Explore > and tap the button in the Philips Hue + Spotify card to enable the new Sync tab.
Step 2
Go to the new Sync tab in your Hue app and follow the on-screen instructions to link your Philips Hue and Spotify accounts.
Step 3
Tap Start sync in the Sync tab and start listening to a song or playlist on any device that’s logged in to your Spotify account.
Frequently asked questions
I have Philips Hue Bluetooth lights. Can I sync my lights with Spotify?
No. To enable music sync, or any other entertainment-related feature, you need a Philips Hue Bridge (and coloured lights).
Does music sync for Spotify work with all Hue products?
No, like with other Hue entertainment features, music sync only works with colour-capable Hue lights. You also need a (square-shaped) Hue Bridge.
Which app do I use for what Sync type?
For PC syncing, we recommend the Sync desktop app. For Sync Box, you have to use the Sync mobile app. For Genesis, the set-up and experience is done via the Hue main app.
Can I use music sync without a Spotify account?
No, you need to connect to a Spotify account to access the feature. However, sync with music works for both free and Premium accounts!
Do I need a Spotify Premium account to use the Hue music sync feature?
No, Hue sync for Spotify works for all accounts.
How can I connect Philips Hue with Spotify?
Open the Philips Hue app and go to the Sync tab (centred on the home screen). Then follow the flow to connect your Hue account to Spotify.
Which version of the app do I need for the Spotify feature?
You need the latest version of the Philips Hue app. Note: the Spotify feature is not embedded in the Philips Hue Sync app.
