How do I use indoor spotlights for plants and artwork?

Because they're adjustable, indoor spotlights can function as a great way to highlight the plants and artwork in your home. There are two ways to hang them: on the wall or on the ceiling, depending on the item you want to illuminate. Choose the piece you want to feature, and then install the spotlight where it can be adjusted to shine at about a 30-degree angle.

Lighting artwork is a bit trickier, because light is an enemy of art – it can damage the materials and fade a piece’s colours. Since LED lights produce less heat than incandescent bulbs, they’re ideal for lighting artwork. When positioning your artwork on the wall, make sure that your artwork is positioned away from any sunlight. Aim your spotlight at the artwork at a 30-degree angle, which is an easy way to ensure that the light washes consistently over the piece without creating any dark areas.
