Questions & answers

How do I mount the Secure contact sensor?

Mount the sensor using the included adhesive. Peel off the backing and stick it to a flat surface.

How should I position my Secure contact sensor?

For the best results, place the magnet (the smaller part) on the part that moves, such as a door. Place the sensor itself on the part that doesn't move, such as a door frame. Make sure both parts of the sensor are out of reach of children.

The magnet can be placed to the left, right, or on top of the sensor, but it should always face the glossy section. Try to avoid steel surfaces and strong magnets, such as those found in speakers, as they can affect the sensor's performance. Finally, make sure there's enough space to easily replace the battery in the sensor if necessary.

Can I use the Secure contact sensor outdoors?

The Secure contact sensor is designed for indoor use only.

Can I use the Secure contact sensor on any type of window?

The Secure contact sensor was designed for flexible and easy installation on almost any window frame. However, we don't recommend installing it on steel or magnetic surfaces because they can affect the sensor's performance. Be sure to test the setup on your window frame before installation.

Is a Bridge required to use the Secure contact sensor?

Yes. A Secure contact sensor does not work in a Bluetooth-controlled Philips Hue setup.

What kind of battery does the Secure contact sensor use?

The Secure contact sensor uses a replaceable CR2 battery.
