The Play light bar base unit includes a power supply — the part of the lamp you plug into your wall socket. A single Play light bar power supply can power up to three light bars at once. The Play light bar extension does not include a power supply. You can simply plug the extension into your existing Play’s power supply to extend your setup.

What is the difference between the Play light bar base kit and an extension?

No. Both the base unit and the extension include everything you need to use your Play light bars. However, you do need to connect your light bars to the Bridge (sold separately) to control it using the Philips Hue app.

Where should I install my Play light bars?
Mount the Play light bars behind your TV using the included adhesive, place them horizontally on any surface — such as on either side of your TV — or use the included vertical stand to stand the light bars upright.
How can I mount my Play light bars behind my TV?
You can use the included bracket with the included adhesive to mount your light bars behind your TV. Your instruction manual has detailed instructions on how to mount the light bars.
Does my Play light bar have an on/off switch or a button to control its colors like the Go portable light?
No. Play light bars will light up when connected to power but remain the same color. You can change the color by connecting them to a Bridge (sold separately) and controlling them with the Philips Hue app.
Why is there only one color when I plug in my Play light bars?
You can change the color of your light bars using the Philips Hue app, which connects to your lights via the Bridge (sold separately).
